Boat Covers & Canvas for Moosehead Lake
Seventy-five thousand acres, eighty-some islands, and a season that opens at ice-out and closes early. Moosehead boats spend a short summer working hard and a long winter under cover, and both halves are canvas problems. Greenville is about fifty minutes from the shop.

Built for a Short Season and a Hard Winter
Camp boats sit for nine months and then get used every day for three. What fails is almost always the canvas, the windows, or the seat foam.
Marine Canvas & Boat Covers
Bimini tops, full enclosures, bow and cockpit covers, mooring covers, dodgers, and t-tops, patterned on your boat rather than cut from a catalog size.
Marine canvasCanvas & Cover Repair
New zippers, clear vinyl windows, snaps, and seams. A repair is usually a fraction of a replacement, and we will tell you when it is not worth doing.
RepairsBoat & Furniture Upholstery
Helm seats, benches, pontoon furniture, and cabin cushions rebuilt with new foam and marine vinyl. The same shop does couches, dining chairs, and restaurant booths.
UpholsterySnowmobile, ATV & Motorcycle Seats
Sled seats, side-by-side benches, and motorcycle saddles re-covered in marine-grade vinyl that survives a Maine winter.
Powersport seatsGreenville, Rockwood, and the Cove
Moosehead is the largest lake inside one state east of the Mississippi, and the boats on it range from aluminum fishing rigs out of Lily Bay to cruisers kept at Beaver Cove. Beaver Cove Marina and Moosehead Marina up in Rockwood handle the storage and the mechanical side. Canvas and upholstery are a different trade.
The public ramps are in Greenville, Greenville Junction, and Rowell Cove at Lily Bay State Park, with slips at Crafts Landing and East Cove downtown. If your boat lives at any of them, you are about fifty minutes from a shop that can pattern a new enclosure.
The other half of the year, this is sled country. ITS 85 runs from Greenville to Millinocket, ITS 86 heads over to Rockwood, and the Moosehead Riders keep roughly a hundred and sixty miles of it open. Sled seats come off in November and go back on before Christmas.
- Full camper enclosures for the boats that run in weather, because the lake makes its own.
- Mooring and winter covers built to shed the snow load a Piscataquis County winter puts on them.
- Clear vinyl window replacement, which is what nine seasons of UV does to an old enclosure.
- Seat and cushion re-covers for camp boats that have sat since the eighties.
- Snowmobile seats for ITS 85, 86, and 88 riders, booked in the fall before the trails open.
- One trip to pattern, one trip to fit, and we can work around a camp schedule.

Service areaMoosehead Questions
What camp owners and Greenville boaters ask.
Can you come to the lake to measure?
Yes. Greenville is about fifty minutes from the shop and we make the drive regularly. If the boat is in the water at Beaver Cove, Rockwood, or one of the town slips, we can pattern it there.
My camp boat has not moved in years. Is it worth re-covering?
Often, yes. Old hulls are frequently sounder than the canvas and foam on top of them. Send photos of the seats and the frame and we will tell you honestly whether the money is better spent on the boat or on a different boat.
How long does a new enclosure take?
Plan on weeks, not days, and more in the spring. Moosehead has a short season, so the smart move is to book over the winter and have it fitted before ice-out at the end of April.
Do you do snowmobile seats?
Yes, and fall is the time. Trails open in mid-December and the shop fills in November, so a seat dropped off in October comes back well before you need it.
What about the covers on a camp porch or a dock house?
We build those too. Porch enclosures in white canvas with clear vinyl panels are a regular job, and the same fabric and hardware go on them as go on a boat.
